NBS Tax Billing
You or someone you know may have received a tax bill in the mail for Coast Life Support District’s EMS and Urgent Care taxes. This is not a typical method of tax collection for us, so let’s explain!
Coast Life Support District receives taxes to fund both our Emergency Medical Services/EMS (think ambulance!) and our Urgent Care/UC contract (RCMS currently delivers this service for us).
This money comes from all taxable properties within our service area (stretching from Irish Beach in Mendocino County to Timber Cove in Sonoma County). Coordinating the annual tax assessment is quite a large job, and we hire NBS so that we can focus our efforts on emergency ambulance services and community education.
If you live in Mendocino County, there is a possibility that the county decided not to bill your property on our behalf (they could have a lot of different reasons for this). In this case NBS picks up the billing for us. Nineteen parcels fall into this category this year, and received bills directly from NBS. Unfortunately, these letters were sent out before we had a chance to notify the community, and we’re sorry for any confusion this has caused.
Click here for an example of one of these invoices. (Please note that there is a mistake in these letters. “Attn: Scott Foster” should be “Attn: Bronwyn Golly” when mailing in your payment).
If there are questions about this third-party billing, please feel free to reach out to Coast Life Support District’s EMS Chief, Bronwyn Golly at (707) 884-1829 x1 or NBS at (800) 676-7516.
