About Us
Coast Life Support District (CLSD) is primarily an ambulance service created by the California state legislature. We serve a defined area of rural Mendocino and Sonoma counties through voter-approved property tax funding. We provide a host of healthcare needs to residents and visitors in our community, including:
- Ambulance service staffed by highly trained emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and paramedics
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), automated external defibrillator (AED), and first aid training
- EMT courses
- Levy and oversee property tax to help fund urgent care services at Redwood Coast Medical Services, the local non-profit rural medical clinic (the nearest hospital emergency room is 2 hours away)
- Health care program development in collaboration with other local organizations, such as fall prevention for senior citizens
